1) Luanda
Angola is a great country to visit if you are looking for a safe and welcoming place with amazing beaches, culture, and breathtaking nature. Of course, the capital city of Luanda has some pretty amazing attractions including Launda House and some shopping opportunities at City Center mall!
2) São Paulo da Poté
São Paulo da Poté is a seaside city and offers good natural beauty in terms of its coastline, which ranges from wild and rocky cliffs to fishing villages. The Launda Beach is the site of the annual Kiowa Festival, usually held in March, in which people can go to enjoy local African culture and listen to music in various settings all over the town.
3) Bailundo
Bailundo is a town in the central province of Huíla. It's home to one of the most fascinating rock art sites in Africa, with hundreds of mysterious engravings scattered across 10 hectares. The paintings date back to 12,000 BC, which makes them some of the earliest representations of human life on the continent.
4) Bié Province
Bié Province is in southwest Angola and its capital city is N'Zeto. In 2016, Bié Province’s GDP was $832 million. Its currency is the Angolan kwanza (AOA). Tourists can visit Bié Province by passing through Namibe. They should be aware that this province may not be safe as armed bandits have been attacking cars near the town of Kuito and security checkpoints have been set up to protect tourists from these attacks.
5) Huambo Province
Huambo Province is a hidden gem on the east coast of Africa. Not many people go there and you will get to visit without all the tourists that other places in Angola attract. You'll feel like you're exploring an unknown place that is at the same time familiar because it's Africa.
6) Caxito
Caxito is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located near the River Congo. It is believed to be the country's first capital city and is home to stone churches dating back to the 18th century as well as a museum with beautiful 18th century paintings.
7) Mussende District
You may be surprised to learn that this region of Angola is often referred to as the pearl of the Congo due to its spectacular natural beauty. The climate is humid, hot and rainy, but there are areas with a tropical rainforest. It's possible to spot wild animals in the forests, including buffaloes, elephants and chimpanzees!

Moxico Province is one of the most beautiful areas in Angola. It's close to the capital city and is only an hour from Luanda International Airport. To get there, take a taxi from airport to Luanda or a car from local rental company like Europcar or Avis. Then make your way to Bailundo, located on the border of Huila province.
9) Malanje Province
Malanje Province is home to some of the oldest towns in the country, such as Carmona. It also has a scenic rural landscape that is one of the best reasons to visit.
10) Soyo Province
Soyo Province in the south of Angola is one of the largest and most historic provinces in the country. The provincial capital, Saurimo, has a population that's more than 3 times greater than any other city in Angola except for Luanda. It's one of the first provinces that was colonized by Europeans and is still seen as a proper colony by many Angolans who live there.
